I have always had a keen interested in IT and technology, I am not scared to ask questions and I am never satisfied by knowing that something “just works”, I like to know exactly how it works because it’s the best way to learn, especially in a constantly changing and developing industry like IT.

I am currently working as an Infrastructure Engineer at Runshaw College. I have a wide variety of responsibilities as well as dealing with 2nd/3rd line IT issues. As a team, we proactively monitor and maintain an infrastructure to support more than 10,000 users. With most solutions managed inhouse, it means I am regularly exposed to many different technologies, such as VMWare, Switches and Routers, Active Directory, Group Policy, Wireless solutions, Proxy Servers and much more. My current role also means I am either leading or involved with new projects which gives me great opportunities to expand my knowledge and expose myself to new innovative technologies and solutions.

I am a driven and motivated individual regardless of whether I am working as part of a team or independently, I am able to combine knowledge, patience, determination, and persistence to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.

I am confident in approaching others via phone, email and in person in a friendly and professional manor. I love to challenge myself and work hard to become a valued member of the team I am working with, challenging myself usually means learning new things and expanding my knowledge further which is very satisfying for me. My dedication and passion mean that I use my own time to continue expanding my knowledge or I find myself working on projects which can help benefit the organisation I am working for.

I work with local charitable organisations, running their IT systems, my charitable work means that I have had some great opportunities to single-handedly design and build networks from the ground up.

I graduated from Edge Hill University in 2014, obtaining a First in the subject of Computing and I have since continued on to receive the Microsoft Technology Associate Qualification and "VMware vSphere 6.5: Install, Configure, Manage" training provided by QA. My plan is to continue to develop my knowledge with more training and qualifications in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Yours Sincerely
David Ashcroft
